Hosta blooms reaching for the same summer heat took on the look of California palm trees

As I painted the red poppies floating through the clouds I envision lying in the grass

This piece became an exploration of water

there are plenty of rivers as well and the skyline of downtown sits with a beautiful view of the river

There is a nostalgia in the way they twist and turn as if leading me through a waltz. Contrasting marks were made on bright white paper, creating high contrast with bold paint strokes and mark making.
