Sketching there became an almost daily ritual for me and turning those sketches into this watercolor in my studio later meant reliving the magic all over again

Julia's Door, rue de l'Université art 12 x 12 inchesLast fall, I noticed a familiar door about a block or so away from my hotel the entrance to Julia Child's apartment on the rue de l'Universit. I had stumbled upon it a few years before when we stayed at apartment nearby and painted it then. It seemed like fate had brought me back. So I decided to revisit it, painting away in my room at the JK Place. This watercolor is particularly special as it's the only painting in this collection completed in situ
