For the Kabino Sideboard, designer Simon Legald jazzily improvised on the classic low rectangular cabinet by bopping around with unexpected details. One of the steel sliding front door panels is perforated; the other is not. Slotted handles, smoothly integrated into the doors, are staggered in their placement. And warm ash trim adds a counterpoint to the sleek metal. As Simon says, "I like to work in the cross field
